“Having completed Learndirect courses, my confidence has been given a real boost.”
“I was unemployed when I started learning with Equip. With a successful application, I am now working in retail at Dunelm Mill.”
“My English and maths Level 2 qualifications are very much the 'icing on the cake' so far as mycareer progression to something better is concerned.”
“I have made real progress with learndirect and I am very proud of myself.”
“When I first got made redundant in January 2009, the thought of being out of work terrified me.
The first thing I did was to get on to a Learndirect ‘Employability’ Course which was really good. It taught me how to present myself in a positive way as well as giving advice on CVs, application forms and letters.
I finished the course with my confidence really high and by March invitations to interviews started to come in despite the recession.”
“While I was looking for employment I started the Level 2 numeracy course, splitting my time between home and the Learning Centre. Just before I completed the course I secured a job with the NHS but because Learndirect is flexible I was able to carry on learning as well as earning! I passed the numeracy Level 2 exam in September and would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to staff at the centre, they were particularly helpful.”
“Now, what’s in store for the future? Having completed these Learndirect courses, my confidence has been given a real boost. I am now looking to achieve a good work and life balance as well as using the new maths and IT skills that I have gained at Learndirect.”

"The courses are excellent at Equip Training and the staff are helpful with the courses they are tutoring. I found numeracy quite easy to study and soon passed my Entry Level 3 and Level 1 exams. I am now studying toward Level 2 numeracy.
It was a joy to study skills for life with the staff, they are very helpful; whatever course, they are excellent. They give 100% of their time to help the learner.”
“I was unemployed when I started learning with Equip. With a successful application, I am now working in retail at Dunelm Mill.
Thank you so much for helping me to achieve my goals and to get rid of my gremlins."

“I had seen the advertisements for Learndirect for some time and decided now was the right time to gain a paper qualification in IT.
With a family and a full-time job to consider, what especially appealed to me was the opportunity to study at my own pace at home on my PC without the fear of a classroom environment."
“What initially started as an approach to Learndirect to study for an IT qualification turned out to be a journey of learning lasting just over twelve months, offering me the opportunity to improve my grades to the equivalent of GCSE grade C passes in both English and maths, for which I am very grateful.
I started with English in September 2008 and went on to my IT course leading to a BCS ITQ NVQ Level 2 certificate in IT. I completed my journey by passing my maths exam in October 2009.
The ITQ course was in four sections with an examination at the end of each. Although at times it was rather involved and time consuming, I found this course both to be interesting and useful, even for everyday uses in my current employment and at home.”
“Having now completed my studying (well for the time being anyway) it feels
really great to have a good IT qualification which is recognised by employers.
My English and maths Level 2 qualifications are very much the 'icing on the
cake' so far as my career progression to something better is concerned.
I would like to thank all the staff at the Exeter Centre for their friendliness,
help and patience throughout. A month after passing my final exam, it still
hasn't sunk in properly yet what I have achieved!”

I had been in England for 9 months, working as an au pair. The reason for going to learndirect was to learn English language for my future job as a flight attendant.
When I came to Exeter in October 2008 I didn’t have any English knowledge, and at first it was very hard for me to communicate and to understand. I heard about learndirect from a good friend of mine and decided to learn with them.
In February 2009, I started to visit the centre and knew instantly it was absolutely the right decision. First of all, learndirect offers great courses like maths and English. A big advantage is that I was able to do my courses both from home and at the centre. Another advantage is that learndirect has small groups and when I required help or advice, tutors were there for me. They had time for me and helped me if I had any problems or questions through my learning.
I chose to do an English course to improve my writing, speaking and grammar. I went on to gain two certificates: OCR Level 1 and 2 in Adult Literacy. I have made real progress with learndirect and I am very proud of myself. With learndirect I have improved my career prospects by gaining qualifications.
